Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

This policy explains how Acoustic Products Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you visit acousticproducts.co.uk or place an order with us. We are the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Acoustic Products Ltd, registered in England & Wales, trading as Acoustic Products. You can contact our data team at hello@acousticproducts.co.uk.

Data we collect

  • Identity and contact data: name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number.
  • Order data: items purchased, order value, order history and correspondence with us.
  • Payment data: we do not store your full card number. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant checkout. We receive only the last four digits, the card brand and the outcome of the transaction.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Marketing data: your preferences for receiving marketing from us.

How we use your data and our lawful basis

  • To process and deliver your order, and to handle returns and refunds — performance of a contract with you.
  • To prevent and detect fraud, and to keep our site secure — our legitimate interests and our legal obligations.
  • To keep accounting and tax records — a legal obligation (six years for HMRC).
  • To send marketing emails — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To improve the site through analytics — your consent via our cookie banner.

Who we share your data with

  • Stripe Payments Europe Ltd — payment processing and fraud prevention.
  • Our delivery partners — to fulfil and track your order.
  • Our hosting and email providers — to run the site and contact you.
  • HMRC, regulators or law enforcement where we are legally required to do so.

We never sell your personal data. Where a provider is based outside the UK, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for six years to meet UK tax law. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent and for two years afterwards. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@acousticproducts.co.uk. We respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the basket and checkout, and optional analytics cookies with your consent. Full detail is in our cookie policy.
